ABOUT NICK MURPHY

Nick Murphy is the Director of Football & Recruiting Operations and a co-founder of Zero Blitz Athlete Advisory, built to serve athletes and the people around them with honest, experience-backed guidance. With 14 years across major college football and the NFL ecosystem, Nick brings a rare blend of coaching perspective, front-office evaluation, and elite recruiting strategy to every client relationship.

Nick has coached and recruited at the highest levels, earning a B.S. in Recreation and Sport Management from Coastal Carolina University and a M.Ed. from The University of Texas at Austin, where he also coached and recruited. His career has spanned every level of the Division I landscape, including being a two-time NFL scouting fellow that sharpened his ability to evaluate talent, fit, and opportunity.

Most recently, Nick completed a four-year run as Director of Recruiting Strategy at The Ohio State University, helping build a national-championship program by aligning personnel strategy, relationship management, and long-term roster planning. Today, he leverages deep relationships across college football and pro scouting to help athletes and families understand the recruiting process, identify the right environments, and position themselves for the next level.

Nick’s approach is straightforward and athlete-first: clear communication, detailed preparation, and decisions rooted in what will best support performance, development, and long-term career outcomes for athletes.

Inside the Room Where Rosters Get Built.

A straightforward look at how recruiting decisions get made from someone who spent his career making them. Nick brings his real-world experience to every family that we work with by knowing what to prepare for, what to ask, and what a program’s interest is really worth.

“Talent opens doors. Preparation, development, and the right decisions determine what you do once they’re open.”
